Join us in an interactive workshop to draw a portrait of Helen Simpson, Mayor of Hungerford, our portrait model for the day.
This workshop is suitable for all ability levels and there will be helpful exercises and practical tuition which will build your technical skills and confidence in drawing portraits.
If you’re new to portraiture you will learn about the proportions of the face and figure, and how to use traditional drawing techniques such as Observation, Sighting and Shading to create a portrait that has form and shape.
Experienced artists can practise drawing in a relaxed and sociable learning environment with lots of exercises to sharpen and develop your observation skills.
Please bring your own drawing materials. A selection of dry drawing materials will be available for purchase if you don’t have your own and you are welcome to borrow our drawing boards in the workshop.
Suggested materials to bring: * Cartridge paper / Sketchbook (A3) * A selection of pencils (from 2B to 6B) or charcoal * Rubber * Pencil Sharpener
