Flanagan and Allen tribute

Opera Soprano - Claire Bessent and Susan Norman


Soprano Claire read Music at Durham University and was later winner of the coveted Governor’s Recital Prize. She subsequently undertook further postgraduate vocal studies at the Royal College of Music.
Claire will be accompanied by Susan Norman, Principal Accompanist at Downe House School. Susan will also treat us to her selection of music for a summer’s day.

Consone Quartet


Formed at the Royal College of Music in London, the Consone Quartet launched their professional career in 2015, shortly after which they were awarded two prizes at the 2015 York Early Music International Young Artists Competition, including the EUBO Development Trust Prize and a place on the EEEmerging Scheme in France. They went on to become recipient of the 2016 Royal Over-Seas League Ensemble Prize.

HEAT: The Positive Impacts of Local Food.


Speaker: Rachel Hammond Urban Designer and founder of Edge, a not for profit which designs local food systems. Rachel runs training on food growing.
Rachel will talk about growing food in public spaces. She will start with the film “Incredible Edible Todmorton” which illustrates what a small community can achieve.
